Being on Get Lit is like talking to the cool girl in the bar bathroom, only you’re talking about literature and other awesome shit instead of crying about something.
This episode was a geekfest celebrating Sylvia Plath & Lana Del Rey. As Tragedy Queens: Stories Inspired by Lana Del Rey & Sylvia Plath officially launches, I want to share the stories behind the stories in this amazing antho. Tiffany Morris wrote a story called ‘The Lazarus Wife,’ which tracks the rise & decay of a marriage from the point of view of the disenchanted wife, with an incredible twist that I never saw coming. She is a poet as well & reads a couple of her poems on air, as well as an excerpt from her story. We talked about the rise of female voices throughout literary history & why Sylvia Plath still resonates today. This is the best sad girl party. Join us!
