Getting Lit With Jonathan Lees at Necon

“Easily the most bizarre conversation I’ve ever been a part of, not for the topics but it was recorded on the pavement of a bad hotel, the questionably stained hallway of said hotel and other locations plagued by wind, awkward overheard quotes and drunk visitors. In other words, I had a blast.”

Jonathan Lees

I went to Necon, which is a horror convention in New England. It was my first time. Everyone was so nice. I recorded 3 episodes of Get Lit With Leza while there. This was the last at the end of a long 3 days of hard partying. I had a blast talking to Jonathan Lees who indulged all my obsessions and we geeked out about film & pop culture. This was my first outdoor podcast!

Though he regards himself a hobbyist in all fields, Jonathan Lees is a writer, a photographer, an animal lover and food eater. In addition to his professional career as a Video Director/Producer working with media institutions such as Complex, Viacom, Sundance Channel, AMC and more, he has most enjoyed his side hustle as a Film Festival Director / Programmer working with the legendary New York Underground Film Festival, the famed Anthology Film Archives, Tribeca Film Festival and the Troma Dance Film Festival. He is currently the Director of Film Programming for StokerCon. His story “The Ritual Remains” was recently published in the anthology, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, from NECON. 100% of the proceeds go to benefit Dana Farber and The Jimmy Fund.
