‘Avengers’ Director Joss Whedon Calls for Paul Ryan’s Death

Whedon at a press conference for The Avengers (2012)

Joss Whedon, best known for directing the two Marvel’s Avengers films and creating Firefly and Buffy The Vampire Slayer has recently landed himself in hot water. The fifty-two year old filmmaker took to Twitter days ago to call for the death of house speaker Paul Ryan.

Whedon, a lifelong Democrat, has spoken out against his rival party numerous times before — most notably in the weeks leading up to and following election day, but only recently have his words become so volatile.

The tweet in question, which, since its publication, has turned several liberals and Whedon fans away from the celebrated director, occurred days after Whedon had used Twitter to harass actress Nicole Kidman. Following the actress’ suggestion that we get behind the current president elect, Donald Trump, in an attempt to unify the country, Whedon — now predictably — used it as an opportunity to spew vitriol Kidman. Whedon has yet to delete either of the tweets or apologize.

Shrill, on-the-pill, Vagina Monologues-toting women and their manslaves made this possible. Well played, people! You’re fighting for the right to wish death on people! Great job! This is progress!
