Time to Cancel ‘The Daily Show’ – Trevor Noah Fucking Sucks

There are some things that just make you scratch your head ‘why’? Like Donald Trump leading polls… or there being such a thing as KFC flavored nail polish… or even the fact we’re getting a new Power Rangers movie after 20 years of anyone even caring about that property. But perhaps the biggest head scratcher is why Trevor Noah is still hosting The Daily Show after eight straight months of floundering.

Comedy Central has made a tremendous error in giving the newcomer Stewart’s prized seat and they’re too stubborn, and insecure, to backtrack now. We’ve now seen Larry Wilmore, John Oliver, and Samantha Bee take on hosting duties themselves, for their own original talk shows, and to much greater results.

There’s a lack of passion with Noah. He’s too concerned with coming off as a likable, Jimmy Fallon-esque captain to the new Daily Show ship. It doesn’t work, comes across as forced, and feels quite stale when you can tune into any other late night show and find everyone else doing it much better. The ‘give joke, smile, laugh, deliver punchline’ set up doesn’t work when you’re supposed to be enlightening America through laughter.

This leaves Comedy Central with two options: replace Trevor Noah — preferably with a face that is recognizable to the masses — or simply cancel The Daily Show. The series high for Noah’s tenure was its first episode… and they’ve only dropped gradually since then. It’s time to make a move, Comedy Central.
