‘Batman v. Superman’ May Be Loose Continuation of Burton’s Batman Films

Just in case you weren’t hyped before, or have been clamoring for some retro style comic book films, this odd tidbit from an early screener may fuel your interest in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

According to Andrew Dyce at ScreenRant, a member of the test screening audience reported seeing the original Warner Bros. batsuit from Tim Burton’s Batman (1989).

“If all this reported time spent in the Batcave has you hoping for even more easter eggs, then fear not: classic Batsuits are in store. Predictably, the details of the other Batsuits in storage are tricky to catch on the first viewing, but the poster singles out two in particular: one that resembles the style and shape of Michael Keaton’s rubber body armor from Tim Burton’s Batman (1989)…”

So there you have it. If Keaton’s suit can, indeed, be found in the Batcave then that has some fascinating implications towards where this movie, and future installments, fall in the DC canon. It would also mean something interesting things about this version of The Joker (played by Jared Leto) and his evolution.

What do you think? Are we getting a simple nod, a loose continuation of the Burton films, or perhaps both? Sound off below.
