U.S. Power Grid Vulnerable to Iranian Hacks

Security researcher Brian Wallace was digging in the history of hackers who had snatched a university in California’s housing files when he discovered a much larger nightmare… Hackers had opened a pathway into the networks running the United States power grid.

Clues had pointed to Iranian hackers. Wallace found that they had stolen passwords and multiple engineering drawings of several power plants with at least one having the title “Mission Critical.”

Their drawings were so detailed that experts say the attackers could have used them and other leaked details to knock out electricity flowing to millions of homes.

Wallace was obviously surprised. However The Associated Press has found that this particular was not unique. And we should all be very much worried.
