Where Did John Green Go?

In 2012 The Fault In Our Stars became a national bestseller. It shot author John Green to fame. Since then, however, he’s been MIA. Not a single book or screenplay has been written, nor put into the works, since it hit shelves. One must wonder… is Green afraid of a potential decline?

John Green has kept himself busy these past couple of years. He’s produced YouTube videos, gone on promotional tours, was interviewed about film adaptions of his books, and even started his own podcast with his brother Hank called Dear Hank & John (which, ironically enough, he’s been absent from approximately half of.) Many fans have started to get the feeling that Green’s pause from the world of writing may not be a result of work commitments, but fear.

Any sane person would have been slightly overwhelmed with the success of Stars had it fallen into their hands. Not to mention that the 2014 adaption directed by Josh Boone and starring Shailene Woodley was a monster of a hit in its own regard. Even though the adaption of Looking for Alaska was swept under the rug rather quickly, the buzz surrounding Green and Stars is still on-going.

Fans have been clamoring for more. The question is though, will John Green be able to supply new material before his relevancy diminishes?
